Physician-Led Ketamine Care In Denver

Welcome to vitalitas

Vitalitas Denver offers thoughtful, evidence-based care that puts safety, clarity, and the patient experience first.

This is a place for people who want a medically grounded approach, clear expectations, and a team that takes the time to explain what comes next.

Two paths we commonly support

Many patients come to Vitalitas after other treatments have not provided enough relief. Explore the path that fits your situation best.

MENTAL HEALTH

We support patients with treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety, and other complex mental health concerns.

CHRONIC PAIN

We also support patients living with complex chronic pain conditions through individualized treatment planning and close clinical monitoring.

HOW CARE WORKS

Our care process is structured, individualized, and designed to be easy to follow. We start with consultation and screening, then move forward only when treatment is clinically appropriate.

  • We begin with a clinical consultation to understand your symptoms, health history, current treatment, and goals. This helps us assess whether Vitalitas may be an appropriate fit and what additional information may be needed.

  • In order to provide the best care to our patients, we need to coordinate with the primary provider managing your mental health or chronic pain symptoms. This may be a PCP, psychiatrist, or therapist.

  • Treatment visits take place in a private room with physician oversight and clinical monitoring. Our team prioritizes safety, clarity, and a calm environment throughout the visit.

  • Follow-up is part of the care process. We review your response, monitor how you are doing, and adjust the plan when appropriate.

Our goal is clear, medically responsible care that supports continuity over time, not a one-size-fits-all experience.

Our friendly, qualified team will support you at every step.

MORE PATIENT STORIES

I was going through a really deep depression… I had tried everything—treatment centers, medications, therapy. It got to the point where I didn’t want to be alive anymore.

During my first treatment, I felt warmth. With my eyes closed, I saw colors and things from my life that were beautiful—things I had forgotten about.

After my third ketamine session I started seeing beauty again, which was the biggest thing for me—seeing beauty and feeling gratitude again.

I spent a little over a year trying all kinds of pain management—injections, nerve blocks, acupuncture, physical therapy, all the oral medications. I tried everything.

My pain specialist recommended ketamine, and it changed my life. During my very first treatment, ten minutes in, the pain went away.

Now, I can pick up my grandkids, cook for them, they can spend the night, we travel. I do all that because of ketamine and the people here who know what to do with it.

— BARRY K.

I’ve been treated for depression for about 27 years. My psychiatrist and I had tried everything and she said there really weren’t a lot of other medications left. She told me the alternatives were ECT or ketamine.

The best emotional takeaway is that it gave me back my enthusiasm for doing things. It took several weeks before I noticed a difference. It was gradual, not a miraculous transformation, but ketamine got me interested in doing things again. It gave me my retirement back.

RECENT BLOG FEATURES

  • Yes. A physician anesthesiologist is present for every infusion and closely monitors your treatment. That level of oversight is a core part of how we approach safety.

  • We use ketamine-specific response questionnaires along with ongoing clinical evaluation to track how you are responding over time. We are not guessing. We are looking carefully at what is changing, what is not, and what makes sense next.

  • Ketamine has been used for decades in anesthesia and pain management. In this setting, it is given at sub-anesthetic doses with physician oversight and monitoring. Safety still depends on the patient, which is why screening, medical history, and clinical judgment matter.

  • For mental health treatment, the infusion itself typically takes about 40 minutes. Most visits last longer than that once you account for getting settled, monitoring during treatment, and a recovery period afterward.

Pain treatments are longer and tailored to your needs. Read more about our approach to pain treatment and schedule a consult if you still have questions.tem description

  • We begin by reviewing your medical history and treatment plan. On treatment day, we place an IV and monitor your heart rate, rhythm, blood pressure, and oxygen level throughout the infusion. You will be awake during treatment, and most people spend that time resting quietly or listening to music. Afterward, we continue monitoring you before discharge.

  • No. You will need a responsible adult to drive you home after your infusion. You should also avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or making important decisions for the rest of the day.

  • A common starting protocol is a series of six infusions over about three to four weeks. From there, ongoing treatment needs vary. Some patients benefit from maintenance infusions, while others may follow a different plan depending on their response.

  • In many cases, yes. You should not stop your prescribed medications on your own in order to pursue treatment. We review your current medication list carefully before treatment begins and let you know if anything needs to be adjusted.

  • No, but it is the route with the strongest clinical track record and the most predictable delivery. Ketamine can also be given in other forms, but IV treatment remains the gold standard in most of the research and offers the greatest control over dosing.

  • It may. Many patients come to Vitalitas after other approaches have not provided enough relief. The goal of the consultation is to look at your symptoms, history, and current care to determine whether this is a reasonable next step and what kind of response to expect.

  • Ketamine is not considered physically addictive in the way some other substances are, but it can be misused recreationally at much higher doses and frequencies than we use clinically. In a medical setting, treatment is carefully controlled and monitored.

  • We will give you specific instructions before treatment. In general, that may include fasting for a period of time before your visit and following any medication guidance we provide ahead of the appointment.
